Lean Six Sigma White Belt provides a foundational introduction to Lean Six Sigma principles, giving learners basic awareness of process improvement, waste reduction, and key terminology. It prepares individuals to support improvement initiatives by recognising opportunities for efficiency and understanding their role within the broader Lean Six Sigma structure.

Course Content

  • Understand Continuous Improvement and the evolution of Lean Thinking

  • Understand the principles of Lean and Six Sigma.

  • Recognize the importance of process improvement.

  • Identify the roles and responsibilities within a Lean Six Sigma framework.

  • Describe basic tools and techniques for problem-solving and waste reduction.

  • Understand the DMAIC project improvement methodology and how it is applied.

  • Communicate the benefits of Lean Six Sigma to their teams or organisations.

Introduction to Lean Six Sigma 

  • History and evolution of Lean and Six Sigma.

  • Overview of DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) methodology.

  • Understanding waste (The 8 Wastes of Lean).

 

Lean Principles 

  • Key concepts: Value, Value Stream, Flow, Pull, and Perfection.

  • Identifying and reducing non-value-added activities.

 

Six Sigma Basics 

  • Introduction to variation and process capability.

  • Understanding the role of data in decision-making.

 

Problem-Solving Tools 

  • Introduction to tools like SIPOC, Pareto Analysis, and Fishbone Diagrams.

  • Using simple metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.

 

Roles in Lean Six Sigma 

  • Overview of White Belt, Yellow Belt, Green Belt, Black Belt, and Master Black Belt roles.

  • Collaboration within Lean Six Sigma teams.
